CIC-GSIS joint discussion in compliance to R.A. No. 9510

PASAY CITY, 25 July 2019 – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) spearheaded a joint meeting with Credit Information Corporation (CIC) held at the GSIS Head office. The joint discussion revolved on the updates from the CIC in relation to compliance with R.A. No. 9510 also known as the Credit Information System Act (CISA) as well as address the concern(s) of the GSIS on onboarding their basic credit data to the Credit Information System (CIS).

The CIC SVP for Business Dev’t & Communications Group, Atty. Aileen L. Amor-Bautista and Acting SVP for Credit Information Management System, Ms. Maria Bernadette B. Bautista, provided a concise overview of the mandate and functions of the Philippines’ one and only central credit registry.

Sighting the significance of basic positive and negative credit data in improving the credit facility, Atty. Amor-Bautista also emphasized that the CIC Credit Report will enable the transition of utilizing reputational collateral over physical collateral.

As GSIS successfully complied with the documentary requirements, it’s expected that the GSIS will onboard around Five (5) Million contracts in the Production Phase this August of 2019.
